About

We operate at the intersection of human truth and spatial narrative.

Palatable was founded in 2025 by three former [redacted] strategists who believed the experiential industry wasn’t asking hard enough questions. Questions like: What does it mean to feel something on behalf of a brand? What happens when we stop treating people as audiences and start treating them as ecosystems? And what is the true carrying capacity of a human being for brand-adjacent emotion?

We didn’t have all the answers. But we had the infrastructure. And in the years since, we have built an organization committed to closing the gap between intention and sensation — one activation, one substrate, one involuntary engagement at a time.

Our Values

We believe in the fundamental right of every brand to be felt.

We treat consent not as a gate, but as a gradient.

We measure success not in impressions, but in metabolizations.

We are committed to the permanent capture of impermanent human moments.

Milestones

2025

Founded in Brooklyn by three former [redacted] strategists. First office: a converted loading dock on Bowery, selected for its “absence of natural light and emotional warmth.”

2026

First activation exceeds 100,000 consumer touchpoints. Client described results as “disturbingly effective.” Relationship ongoing.

2027

Named to AdAge’s “Agencies to Watch” list. Launched the Ambient Persuasion practice. Hired our first behavioral economist (from a field we are not permitted to name).

2028

Opened London and Singapore offices. Revenue surpassed $40M. Introduced “Substrate” as our preferred term for activation participants. Deployed Lather, our proprietary experience intelligence platform, across all active campaigns.

2029, March 14

Routine volumetric capture calibration incident during a scheduled focus group session. Internal matter. Resolved. Ongoing.

2029

Launched Involuntary Engagement and Post-Consent Innovation practices. Expanded Labs division. Three regulatory inquiries opened; two resolved favorably, one “in dialogue.”

2030

340% growth in brand metabolization metrics. Named “Most Ethical Experiential Agency” by Turgid Insights for the third consecutive year. Criteria remain confidential.

Leadership

Maren Vost

Founder & Chief Experience Architect

Maren spent 12 years at [redacted] before founding Palatable. She believes every human interaction is an unoptimized brand moment. Her work has been profiled by Fast Company, Wired, and one publication that has since retracted the profile.

Declan Rhys

VP of Consumer Substrate Strategy

Declan pioneered the Consent Gradient framework and has spoken at 14 conferences that no longer invite him back. His essay “The Consumer Is Dead; Long Live the Substrate” was the most-forwarded internal memo in company history.

Priya Okafor-Chen

Director of Post-Consent Innovation

Priya’s work in involuntary engagement has been described as “troubling” by three regulatory bodies and “visionary” by four trade publications. She holds a dual degree in behavioral psychology and spatial design from institutions she prefers not to name.

Our Process

From first contact to full metabolization, every engagement follows our proprietary activation methodology.

01

Discovery & Emotional Audit

We map the emotional terrain of your target substrate, identifying vulnerabilities, aspirations, and unmet needs that can be redirected toward brand objectives.

02

Consent Gradient Mapping

We chart the full spectrum of participant willingness, from enthusiastic opt-in to ambient compliance, and design activation pathways for every point on the gradient.

03

Spatial Narrative Design

Our environment architects construct physical and digital spaces where the brand story becomes the only available experience. Alternative narratives are designed out.

04

Consumer Substrate Preparation

Through calibrated pre-activation touchpoints, we bring participants to optimal receptivity before they enter the primary engagement zone.

05

Activation Deployment

The experience itself. Every sensory input, social cue, and environmental variable is orchestrated to deliver maximum brand metabolization per substrate.

06

Emotional Extraction & Capture

Real-time biometric and behavioral data is harvested throughout the activation, documenting every emotional response for analysis and future optimization.

07

Data Metabolization

Raw experiential data is processed through Lather, our proprietary intelligence platform, converting human moments into actionable brand intelligence and longitudinal substrate profiles.

08

Optimization & Retention

Insights feed back into the discovery phase, creating a closed loop of continuous engagement refinement. The substrate is never truly released.
